The dress, and hat were thrifted!

Sunday Morning, we decided to do a little adventure! We went to a Lavender Festival in Cherry Valley; however, since we moved, I wondered where I could go for some lavender fun. After doing some research, I came across Araceli Farms in Dixon, CA. I was really excited because I found the farm and happy to report that it is WOC-owned. That’sThat’s a double win in my book!

The tickets are slotted for two hours; they just see the ticket, and you can go ahead and park. We choose the 8:30-10:30 A.M. time because it’ll mean fewer people and won’t be as hot. To be honest, we didn’t know what to expect because we’vewe’ve never been here and it’s just a farm, not a festival.

Overall, it was cute! Admissions were only $5 a person, and they had free parking. The farm is right next to the owner’s house, which is cool too. You could see their chickens, and I thought that was darling. I believe they sell foods sometimes, but we were too early for that. Again, I’m only writing from my experience. The first thing I did was actually go to the gift shop first. One, everyone will go to the fields first and then gift shops, it’ll be less crowded when we go back out, and two, I wanted to buy a bunch of lavender to use as props for photos-THERE ARE NO U-PICK. The gift shop is pretty tiny, and they have a hanging lavender backdrop for incredible photo ops as well! After I purchased my bundle of lavender ($8), we made a short walk to the fields. Once we went to the fields, people went to the gifts shop for the lavender props, and we had some empty spaces to take pics in. They had all kinds of lavender but my favorite by far where the Royal Velvet Lavender seen in the pictures. I swear you’d think you’re in Provence here for a bit. We looked through all the different types and walked for a few minutes. Once we took our pictures, we decided to go back to the gift shop to take photos with the lavender backdrop, and I noticed a new vendor there. She was making lavender wands! I knew I had to get one and picked up this cute medium-sized one with a gorgeous cottagecore ribbon. We talked a little bit, and she also let us know that there was a Lavender festival next week! Hint basically that my next adventure with a dear online friend!

We were only there for a short while; again, it was only 20 minutes away from us, so it wasn’t out of the way, and it was definitely a refreshing way to start the morning. We also stopped by a cafe Solano Baking Company and oh my goodness, did they have just the best breakfast food and pastries there. Classic donuts, breakfast bagels, and croissants. I got a croissant with egg, avocado, and pepper jack cheese, and Kevin got a donut and deluxe croissant for ONLY $13!! Kevin was really impressed with the prices, I was too, and I swear donut shops have the best breakfast sandwiches. It’sIt’s not going to be our go-to breakfast place-better than MC D’sD’s.

Overall the experience was pleasant. It was quick and no fuss. I do wonder what it would be like a mid-day or having a picnic there would be like! The prices were reasonable, and the experience was great! As for COVID safety, when we arrived, no one at the farm had masks on. To be honest, I was a little concerned, but we wore our masks, and we’re vaccinated. They also had a sign saying if a guest requests the staff to wear a mask, they would. After a while, I noticed some of the staff did wear them. It was still a friendly environment, and I’m oh so sure that the lavender gave us a dose of serenity to our day.
