Crocker Art Museum
Since we moved here, I’ve wanted to explore Sacramento more! I had my eye on the Crocker Art Museum for some time now. I made sure it was open to the public, and finally, it was! So we took our first trip to the museum in over a year! We made reservations for 11:30 A.M., and masks must be worn at all times as well! I always recommend going to any museum or outing early to avoid crowds and groups of people. When we left at it was 1 P.M., and bigger groups of people were coming in. So we arrived and left at the perfect time for a Saturday.
We were greeted at the front and check-in. They recommended starting from the third floor and working our way down. The third floor had the main exhibit Country, City, and Sea, a collection of Dutch Romantic paintings. It was incredibly refreshing to see. I absolutely love oil paintings and their details. I always like getting really close to the paintings to see the details, and in this collection, I did it numerous amounts of times. One of them was my favorite because it was an apple blossom tree with cute cows in it. This collection is only available for another week, so definitely get a chance to see it!
The rest of the collection, for the most part, is permanent with collections from American Art before 1945, American Art after 1945, Ceramics, European Art, Native American Ceramics, and some Photography. If I could take multiple pictures, omg, I would’ve, but I think everyone should visit, and I don’t want to spoil too much. There were so many paintings of Yosemite Valley as there should be and it was nice to kind of “visit it” in that sense.
For my outfit, I went with my new fav jeans from Old Navy and a puffy sleeve top I got from Target. I wore my Everlane heels, which were comfy at first, but my feet were killing me towards the end of the day. I wore the same mask as I did when we went to SF, and I styled my hair with some hot curlers and a big satin scrunchie in a low pony.
Heels- unfortunately not available
I went with a simple nude eye look for makeup and played it up with lashes to add a touch of romance. Of course, always adding a lot of blush and only adding concealer where I need it most. A complete video on how I achieve that coverage is up on my youtube now! Check it out!
I used Remington hot rollers and Act and Acre’s dry shampoo as this was my second-day hair. This dry shampoo is the best I’ve ever used. Psst- if you stick with me long enough, you’re going to see why my hair has been so much better.
